Martinis
Mountain Wildlife Reserve
The development of flow pathways
established for the convenience of human beings,
particularly roads, often damage free flow resources for
the animals that lived in the area while it maintained its
wild state.
We propose an Amfilissos Area
ecological observatory project to maintain flows, giving priority to
the needs of wild animals (e.g., Coyote, Chamelion) over
the needs of humans, in a reserved area on the slopes of
the Martinis mountain (the exact location and bounaries
of the wildlif reserve will be discussed and determined
in conjunction with local landowners). The study of the
flora and fauna of this reserve, together with research
on how to protect and enhance the quality of life for
the animals living within it,
could be the
focus of an Ecological
Observatory,
located at Neochori
Slopes
of the Martinis Mountain near Pyrgos
