OVERVIEW OF PATHWAYS TO
VALUE
Pathways To Value explores new ways of understanding and
articulating the value of creativity, using multimedia as a
tool to evidence and encourage reflective practice across
Creative Partnerships schools in London
Creativity is a process unique to the
experience of each individual. When elements within varied
social contexts promote a unique awareness within an
individual’s cognitive context, what results is more than
the transfer of knowledge. It is a creation of
possibilities for the individual’s own production and
construction of knowledge through a range of intelligences
and learning styles. It is a process of discovery and
constant re-conceptualization of ‘meaningful worlds’.
The LML's Creative Partnerships Pathways to value Regional
Research Programme explores new ways of understanding and
articulating the value of creativity, using multimedia as a
tool to evidence and encourage reflective practice across
Creative Partnerships schools in London 2006-2007
Through our evaluation process we discovered that Creative
Partnerships programmes engender unique ways of teaching
and learning marking Creative Partnerships as “special”.
Rather than following a didactic teaching method, involving
teaching and learning roles alone, Creative Partnerships
introduce a new triangular teaching method
where teachers have opportunities to be learners,
artistic practitioners can become teachers, and students
can assume a teaching and creative practitioner’s role
within projects.
“…a presence of teaching and learning
simultaneously in the context….
a curiosity anxious to explore the limits of creativity,
persistent in the search, and courageously humble in the
adventure....”
Paolo Freire,
1998
