Research Consent Form

PURPOSE OF RESEARCH

You are invited to participate in an on-line study which forms part of a doctoral project in Social Psychology. The aim of the study is to get a better understanding of peoples’ personalities.

You will be doing two different studies which are unrelated.

PROCEDURES

The on-line study is expected to take approximately 5 to 10 minutes to complete. If you decide to participate in the study you will be given further instructions.

PARTICIPANTS’ RIGHTS

You should not feel obliged to agree to participate.

There is no estimated benefit for participating in this study, apart from bringing your contribution to social psychology knowledge. There are no associated risks in participating in this study.

If you first agree to participate and then you change your mind, you are free to withdraw your consent and discontinue your participation at any time during the survey.

Your identity will be kept confidential. The results of this research survey may be presented at social science conferences or published in social science journals. However, your identity will not be disclosed as you will be identified only by a unique code number.
