Book Reviews

We are pleased to announce a new initiative for PSR in the form of book reviews. There have been a number of different texts over the years, both single-authored and edited volumes, which have been extremely influential in the field of social representations. These texts have advanced the theory conceptually as well as employed it in innovative ways. There also exists a variety of volumes which do not necessarily fall into the social representations framework but are of interest to researchers in the field.

Hence, we are inviting reviews of texts, old and new, which have contributed to the development of the theory or have the potential to make a significant impact. Books that link social representations with general social psychology are also of interest. Click here for current list of publications for which we are currently soliciting reviews.

Reviewers are also encouraged to propose texts that they feel are relevant and that would be of interest to social representations researchers. Whilst the journal does not accept non-English submissions, we do welcome reviews of non-English texts. We are also open to a range of formats, such as multiple reviews of a particular text by a group of reviewers, thus approximating a set of commentaries. Alternatively we shall consider reviews on 2 or 3 texts on the same topic, where one of which relates directly to Social Representations. Please contact the Book Review Editor to discuss your proposals.

Review papers should be between 1000- 2000 words and must be submitted in accordance with our submission guidelines (see To contribute). All submitted papers will be reviewed for publication on the understanding that they have not been previously published elsewhere and are not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.
